eMail2Pop is all that is advertised -- stable and easy to use. I use Outlook as my PIM and base for web access, and with eMail2Pop, can easily access multiple e-mail accounts (AOL, Hotmail, ATTBI) -- without AOL's mindless 'front page'.

During usage of the eMail2Pop program, eMail2Pop may make internet connections to the PorkChup Solutions internet servers.  Each connection is guaranteed to serve any of the following purposes: a) A test of internet connectivity  b) To check and/or download updates  c) To send or verify registration  d) To check subscription status in order to activate or disable the program  e) To upload log files or debugging information with permission from the user
  2. When any of the above functions are carried out, the following information is collected: IP information, host name, date of access, request
  3. eMail2Pop never uploads any file except log files without your consent.  Personal documents and data files in the computer are never sent to PorkChup Solutions.  eMail2Pop never digs your computer for sensitive data nor sends personal information revealed in you computer settings to PorkChup Solutions.

Email Server Access
  1. All send or receive functions are carried out directly between the providers' e-mail servers, the computer with eMail2Pop installed, and the internet connection of the computer where eMail2Pop is installed.  PorkChup Solutions servers are never queried or accessed for a mail related functions.  Your computer with eMail2Pop acts as the e-mail server which is why POP3 and SMTP connections are directed to your own computer.  No software is installed on the PorkChup Solutions server to carry out eMail2Pop mail functions.
  2. Your username and password are transferred directly from eMail2Pop to the mail provider.  Your password is encrypted with 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer technology (export regulations apply).
  3. eMail2Pop acts as a bridge or interpreter between your mail program and the mail service.  Therefore, passwords are never saved by eMail2Pop (but can be stored in your e-mail client).
  4. Cookies - eMail2Pop does not read or write cookies to your computer cookies store.
eMail2Pop Log Files
  1. eMail2Pop features a logging system that can be disabled (default) or enabled by the user in the Options dialog.  Log files are retained on the hard drive only when the user specifies the logging service be enabled.  Logs can be deleted in one click from the Options dialog.
  2. eMail2Pop does selective logging.  Passwords are never logged, but usernames may be logged for certain stages of the mail process.
  3. Sensitive or proprietary information is encrypted with a proprietary algorithm to protect the security of the users.  The users can not decrypt the encrypted log files.
  4. eMail2Pop logs information in chunks with a descriptive header.  When log files are sent to PorkChup Solutions for analysis, only relevant chunks necessary to troubleshoot the problems are decrypted.  That means if you have problems with the POP3 mail service while the SMTP service functions correctly, only certain parts of the POP3 logs will be decrypted and the SMTP parts will be discarded while still encrypted.
  5. After a problem is solved pertaining to a certain set of logs, the logs are discarded off of the PorkChup Solutions eMail2Pop development computers.
  6. eMail2Pop will never release your logs to third-parties for any other use without your permission with the exception of cooperation with law enforcement.
Miscellaneous
  1. eMail2Pop functions as a mail server only.  In no way can your system information or personal files be retrieved from your computer via the eMail2Pop mail service.
  2. eMail2Pop does not employ any special macro or scripting language.  Therefore, eMail2Pop can not be manipulated to send files or send SPAM.
  3. Since eMail2Pop does not store passwords, users accessing eMail2Pop from the internet will be prompted for their usernames and passwords.  The most eMail2Pop can do for outside unwanted visitors from the internet are download and retrieve their AOL mail.  Your mail can never be retrieved without having to provide the password every time.
  4. eMail2Pop provides a personal firewall to further secure its mail services.  The firewall is configurable in the Options dialog.  The firewall will not replace a specialized firewall but will prevent unwanted access to eMail2Pop from restricted areas (such as the internet).  When eMail2Pop is set to block all access from other computers, those computers will be disconnected immediately when a connection attempt is made.  Although programs can detect the presence of a mail server program, the programs will have no way of identifying the mail program.  In other words, scanners will not know that eMail2Pop is a mail server residing on your computer.  With a dedicated firewall, the firewall will kill the connection request before it reaches eMail2Pop, which will appear to scanners that no mail server is present.  By default, eMail2Pop will allow all computers on the local area network.
